In Case You Missed It…

DiabetesMine-Bug-Logo-newIt’s been awhile since I’ve showcased some of my work at DiabetesMine. While I’m not going to recap every blog post I’ve written in the past two months, there are a few I want to highlight, just in case you missed them!

Small But Mighty: Kickstarting Another New BG Logging App: I interviewed Nial Giacomelli, a 25-year-old PWD in England who is creating a new diabetes logging app. He’s raising the last bit of money on Kickstarter so that he can finance the creation of innovative new graphs. Although I haven’t tried out the app myself, I always support D-entrepreneurs and the work they do. But the fundraising ends next Tuesday, February 12, so head on over to his Kickstarter page to find out more!

Back to School: My First Semester as a Wannabe D-Educator: I shared a recap of my first term in school. I’ve talked about it a little bit here, but this one is much more in-depth. I learned a lot of interesting little tidbits about how our body uses glucose and different hormones and how that affects diabetes. It was definitely eye-opening and it makes me excited about what else I’ll learn!

Stacey McGill, A Girl’s First Friend with Diabetes – Now in eBook: Who loves The Babysitter’s Club? When I found out the series was coming out on ebook, I thought it would be the perfect time to talk about my personal connection to the series, and how Stacey, this fictional girl from Connecticut, helped me feel like a normal kid. And guess what else? I even got a chance to interview Ann M. Martin! So cool!

Taking a Pump Hiatus? There’s An App For That: I’ve been on a pump “hiatus” (more like a sabbatical at this point) for nearly a year, and a lot of people think I’m a little crazy. But it actually works pretty well for me, and in this post, I talk about a couple of apps that by provide me with an iPhone Bolus Wizard Calculator. The one I use is RapidCalc and I love it!

So this is just a little bit of what I’ve been working on at DiabetesMine. You can always check out all my posts by visiting one of these blog posts and then clicking on my name.

Are you a fan of The Babysitter’s Club? Who was your favorite?

I’ve been taking a pump-hiatus since, like, 2005! Loved your article about your pump-break and can absolutely understand the benefits :)

So cool you got to interview Ann M. Martin!

My favorite baby-sitter was Stacey, naturally. I connected with her because her parents were divorced and she was just so cool!
