Hi there! I’m Allison and I live in the Twin Cities with my geologist husband, Erik, and our pretty Russian Blue cat, Natasha. I lived in the New York City metro area for 7 years after college and I grew up just outside Portland, Oregon.
I’m currently attend the University of Minnesota where I’m studying Nutrition. I hope to become a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. When I’m not in class, I’m a freelance writer. I also own Blue Cupcake, a line of diabetes-inspired greeting cards. We were recently featured in USA Today!
In the past, I’ve worked in public relations and as a professional diabetes blogger.
I’ve lived with type 1 diabetes for 20 years. I wear an Omnipod insulin pump. I also manage my diabetes by eating healthy and exercising. I enjoy running and reading about nutrition, fitness and optimal health!
I love reading, spending time with friends and my husband, going on adventures, and binge watching TV shows on Netflix. I am a member of my local Junior League. Faith and grace are such important parts of my life that I have them permanently decorating my body in the form of a tattoo that I got on the 7th anniversary of my baptism.
I’m so glad you found my little corner of the web and I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment, follow me on Twitter, or email me privately at amnimlos [@] gmail.com.
