Hi there! I’m Allison and I live in Northeast Minneapolis with my geologist husband, Erik, and our pretty Russian Blue cat, Natasha. We just bought our first house and we’re busy making it feel like home. I grew up just outside Portland, Oregon, attended the University of Oregon, and then lived in the New York City area for six and half years.
I’m currently a full-time grad student at Saint Mary’s University where I’m pursuing my Masters in Counseling and Psychology. I’m a part-time Sales Associate and Social Media Manager for a local running store, Run N Fun. I also own Blue Cupcake, a line of diabetes-inspired greeting cards. We were featured in USA Today!
In the past, I’ve worked in public relations and as a professional diabetes blogger.
I’ve lived with type 1 diabetes for 20 years. I wear an Omnipod insulin pump and a Dexcom continuous glucose monitor. I’m always happy to answer questions! I also manage my diabetes by eating healthy and exercising.
I love running, spending time with friends and my husband, going on adventures, and binge watching TV shows on Netflix. I am a member of my local Junior League. Faith and grace are such important parts of my life that I have them permanently decorating my body as a tattoo that I got on the 7th anniversary of my baptism.
I’m so glad you found my little corner of the web and I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment, follow me on Twitter, or email me privately at amnimlos [@] gmail.com.
